How to factory reset your streaming device

You may need to factory reset your  device if it has become unresponsive and you have already tried restarting it and troubleshooting your network. You may also wish to factory reset your Roku device If you are returning or reselling it and wish to clear any personal information.

From the Settings menu

Perform the following steps with your remote or the  mobile app.

  1. Press Home home button on Roku remote on your remote
  2. Scroll and select Settings
  3. Select System
  4. Select Advanced system settings
  5. Select Factory reset
  6. If you have a  TV, select Factory reset everything. Otherwise, move to the next step.
  7. Follow the on-screen instructions

How to connect your  device to a TV

Step 1: Connect your  device to a TV

The first step to setting up your  device is connecting your  streaming device to a television with an HDMI port.

 

Step 2: Connect to power

Next, connect your streaming device to a power source. It is important to use the USB cable that came with your Streaming Stick—using another cable will prevent it from turning on (error 022).

  • From a USB port on your TV

All  Streaming Sticks support USB power, as do some  players. If you are connecting your  device to USB power, use the USB power cable to connect it to a USB port on your TV.

Connect to the Internet

Complete the on-screen instructions to connect your  device to your home network before you can start activation.

  1. Select Set up for home use if you’re using your  device at home
  2. Choose Set up new wireless connection if you are connecting to the Internet via Wi-Fi
  3. Your device will detect available Wi-Fi networks. Use the Directional Pad on your  Remote to select your wireless network
